Supported Boards & Hardware
MudPi supports a range of single-board computers and microcontrollers. Choose the right board for your garden project.
Primary Controllers
These boards can run the full MudPi core system as a master controller.
Raspberry Pi
RecommendedThe Raspberry Pi is the primary platform for MudPi. Models 3B+, 4, and Zero W are all supported. The Pi runs the core MudPi service, manages sensors, and can host the Solarbeam web interface.
Raspberry Pi Zero W
Low PowerThe Pi Zero W is perfect for remote sensor nodes that need WiFi connectivity in a small, low-power form factor. Ideal for solar-powered setups in the garden.
Expansion Microcontrollers
Use these boards as additional sensor nodes connected to your main controller.
Arduino
Arduino Nano and Uno boards can serve as dedicated sensor nodes, communicating with the master Pi over serial or I2C.
ESP8266 / ESP32
WiFi-enabled microcontrollers for wireless sensor nodes. Perfect for remote garden zones that are far from the main controller.
Custom Boards
MudPi's modular architecture allows integration with custom hardware. Build your own sensor boards tailored to your needs.
Supported Sensors
MudPi works with a variety of commercially available sensors out of the box.
